BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 + years of progressive federal income tax consulting experience (large law firm, large accounting firm, industry experience or IRS preferred)
  • CPA or J.D. preferred, EA
  • Have a basic understanding of federal income tax issues and tax law regarding partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, employment taxes and exempt organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with federal tax controversy matters
  • Experience working with the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service
  • Experience working with clients going thru IRS audits and/or clients with cases in the Independent Office of Appeals
  • Experience working with the IRS Office of Taxpayer Advocate
  • Strong proficiency with tax research databases (such as Bloomberg BNA and RIA Checkpoint)
  • LL.M. or MST in Taxation
