We have a new opportunity for a dynamic and results driven National Transport Manager to join our Briggs Transport team in the Republic of Ireland. In this key leadership role, reporting to the Group Head of Transport, you will lead the transport function ensuring the delivery of a safe, compliant, cost effective and efficient transport service provision nationwide.

Responsibilities

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE:

  • Responsible for the implementation of best practice transport principles, policies, and processes, to continuously improve operational safety, compliance, and performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring the transport departments in ROI operate in a safe and efficient manner and are fully compliant within legislation.
  • Accountable for ensuring inhouse and outsourced transport providers are operating in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Planning, managing and evaluating all transport activities.
  • Consulting with internal stakeholders, suppliers, external transport providers and customers.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all transport related stakeholders.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, cost optimisation whilst sharing best practices throughout the Group.
  • Maintaining compliance to all current and future legislation.
  • Delivering high standards of service delivery to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creating an environment where safety is embedded in the core principles of the transport function.
  • Delivering transport expenditure within agreed budgets.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE:

  • National or International Certificate of Professional Competence qualification in Transport Management.
  • Reside in Republic of Ireland (due to licence regulations).
  • Extensive experience in transport/logistics/operations management.
  • Knowledge of transport/logistics industry and associated regulations.
  • Extensive experience of managing budgets and contracts.
  • Proven and effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence with a willingness to travel.
