The Opportunity

This is more than a warehouse leadership role.

We're looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, identify opportunities to improve performance, and establish nationally consistent warehouse practices across the business. You'll lead initiatives that improve inventory accuracy, increase productivity, optimise warehouse utilisation, reduce costs, and strengthen operational governance.

You'll also own and manage the organisation's Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring our warehouse technology supports operational excellence today while positioning the business for future growth.

Key Responsibilities

National Warehouse Operations

  • Develop and implement nationally aligned warehouse operating standards
  • Drive consistency across receiving, replenishment, picking, dispatch, and stock control processes
  • Lead warehouse capacity planning and network optimisation initiatives
  • Deliver productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction programs across the warehouse network
  • Support improved customer service outcomes through enhanced warehouse performance

Warehouse Systems & Technology

  • Own and manage all Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) across the business
  • Lead system optimisation, enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure strong governance of warehouse data and system integrity
  • Partner with IT to improve integrations, system capability, cybersecurity, and future technology solutions
  • Collaborate with external providers and stakeholders to maximise system performance

Inventory Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Improve inventory accuracy through robust governance and cycle count programs
  • Identify and eliminate root causes of inventory discrepancies
  • Analyse operational data to uncover improvement opportunities
  • Develop and monitor key warehouse performance metrics
  • Embed a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the network

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to warehouse teams nationally
  • Drive capability development through training and knowledge sharing
  • Build strong relationships across Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance, and IT
  • Influence operational decision-making across the national supply chain network
  • Lead change initiatives and embed standardised ways of working nationally

About You

You're a commercially minded warehouse, logistics, or supply chain leader who thrives on driving operational performance through people, systems, and process improvement.

You'll be successful in this role if you've:

  • Led warehouse or distribution operations across multiple sites
  • Delivered measurable improvements in productivity, inventory accuracy, DIFOT, or operating costs
  • Successfully implemented, upgraded, or optimised Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Built strong operational disciplines and standardised ways of working
  • Led change and successfully embedded new processes and technologies
  • Influenced stakeholders across operations, manufacturing, finance, and supply chain functions
  • Used data and analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvements
  • Developed high-performing teams and built capability across geographically dispersed operations

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse governance
  • Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage, or related industries
  • Working knowledge of WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and food-grade warehouse requirements
  • Willingness to travel nationally to support operational teams and improvement initiatives

Success in this Role Will Look Like

  • Increased inventory accuracy across the network
  • Improved DIFOT and customer service performance
  • Reduced warehouse operating costs
  • Increased warehouse productivity and utilisation
  • Stronger WMS governance and data integrity
  • Reduced overtime, labour inefficiencies, and handling costs
  • Consistent warehouse standards and processes across all sites
  • A more capable, engaged, and high-performing warehouse network
