Pinnacle Hire is seeking a driven and experienced National Water Treatment Engineer to contribute to our growth Australia Wide.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled National Water Treatment Engineer to design, deliver, and support temporary and semi-permanent water treatment systems across Australia. Working closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams, you will contribute to project scoping, system design, costing, and on-site optimisation. This role blends technical expertise with commercial insight to ensure successful project outcomes nationwide.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering or related discipline) or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant certifications or formal training in water treatment systems, process engineering, commissioning, or project management.
  • Ongoing professional development in water treatment technologies, regulatory compliance, and field commissioning.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Water Treatment System & Process Engineering
  • 5–10 years’ experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Skilled in sizing, designing, and optimising treatment systems, with practical experience in temporary or mobile plant setups—particularly within construction, mining, oil & gas, or emergency response environments.

  • Proficient in reading and applying P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and performing hydraulic calculations.

  • Equipment, Commissioning & Troubleshooting

  • Hands-on experience with pumps, tanks, membranes, valves, dosing systems, sensors, and field instrumentation.

  • Experienced in system commissioning, performance testing, fault-finding, and optimisation across various site conditions.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/PLC systems, remote monitoring tools, and water chemistry testing.

  • Comfortable operating in remote, industrial, and construction environments under time-sensitive conditions.

  • Regulatory, Safety & Risk Management

  • Solid understanding of local water quality standards (e.g., ADWG, EPA, industrial discharge regulations).

  • Knowledge of HAZOPs, SWMS, and safety planning relevant to temporary and mobile water treatment systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply risk management principles in both design and operational contexts.

  • Commercial Awareness & Hire Industry

  • Strong knowledge of hire/rental operations, including equipment setup, commissioning, and demobilisation for both short- and long-term deployments.

  • Understanding of rental pricing structures, service level expectations, margins, and the commercial impact of engineering decisions.

  • Familiarity with service contracts, SLAs, and operational models within the hire sector.

  • Client- Focused Delivery & Communication

  • Proven ability to tailor technical solutions to meet client needs within equipment and commercial constraints.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, explain technical concepts, and respond to site-based queries.

  • Experienced in collaborating with internal sales, operations, and field service teams in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
