About the role An exciting opportunity is available for a capable and motivated individual to join Council’s Natural Areas team in a permanent full‑time role. In this position, you will play a key part in delivering Council’s volunteer Bushcare Program and supporting meaningful environmental outcomes across the community. The role is based at Council’s Rydalmere Operations Centre, located at 316 Victoria Road, Rydalmere. On a daily basis you will: Manage up to 20 Bushcare volunteer groups. Liaise with volunteers to support their ongoing engagement and activities. Implement educational programs and community events. Recruit new Bushcare volunteers and establish new volunteer groups. Work closely with Council’s Environment and Sustainability team. Collaborate with other government organisations to deliver best‑practice environmental outcomes for Council’s natural areas. Report to and assist the Supervisor Natural Areas on natural area issues and related matters as required. About You You’re someone who brings a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellence. You enjoy problem‑solving, working collaboratively, and taking ownership of your work. We're looking for someone who brings: Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental or natural resource management, such as supervising Bushcare volunteers and coordinating bush regeneration activities. Strong bushland regeneration knowledge and understanding of key environmental legislation. Ability to develop and deliver volunteer programs and community engagement activities. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with community group. Well‑developed administrative and computer skills, including preparing educational materials. Qualifications You will hold a Degree in natural resources management. environmental science, ecology or related discipline. And a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
