REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 Early Years Qualification (EYE, NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent)
  • A passion for outdoor learning and nature-based education
  • Experience working with children in an outdoor setting (e.g., forest school, nature kindergarten)
  • A strong understanding of EYFS and child-led learning principles
  • Experience leading a team or managing a nursery room
  • Knowledge of the Froebelian approach (training available)
  • Clear enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Nature Kindergarten Lead you will be responsible for planning and leading Nature Kindergarten sessions where children can explore, take risks, and develop holistically in the local community green spaces and beyond. You will support and train a small team in delivering high-quality early years education, through outdoor and nature-based experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement a rich, nature-based curriculum aligned with Froebelian principles and the **Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Facilitate child-led learning through outdoor play, storytelling, and hands-on exploration
  • Ensure the outdoor environment is safe, engaging, and meets health and safety standards
  • Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment
  • Develop strong relationships with families, keeping them informed about their child’s development through documentation and learning stories
  • Promote sustainability and environmental awareness in daily activities
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are understood and followed
