WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Etifor is seeking a Nature Positive Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving systemic change for nature and climate and has a proven ability to work in client-facing roles that require both strategic insight and operational precision.
This position is central to the delivery of services within our Nature Positive Programme. You will work directly with private-sector clients to support the development of integrated strategies for biodiversity, nature, and climate transition plans using internationally recognized standards and frameworks. We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with excellent communication and project management skills and who is confident in engaging with senior stakeholders across different sectors.

EDUCATION

Master’s degree required in a relevant environmental or sustainability field (e.g., environmental science, ecology, environmental economics, environmental engineering, sustainability management).

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years of professional experience required (preferably 5+ years) in one or more of the following areas:

  • Environmental consulting
  • Corporate sustainability
  • Project management focused on sustainability or land-use sectors

Experience in client-facing roles is essential, particularly involving coordination with diverse stakeholders and private-sector partners.
Familiarity with land-use intensive sectors (e.g., agriculture, forestry, tourism, construction) or nature-based solutions is considered a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Fluency in Italian (spoken and written);
  • C1 level English proficiency (spoken and written);
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to:
  • Deliver clear, well-structured technical content;
  • Engage effectively with clients and partners across sectors;
  • Facilitate meetings and support decision-making processes.
  • Strong project management skills, including:
  • Task planning and coordination;
  • Deadline and budget management;
  • Multi-stakeholder team leadership.
  • Familiarity and proven experience with climate standards and frameworks such as the GHG Protocol and SBTi Net Zero Standard
  • Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Motivation aligned with Etifor’s values of environmental integrity, ethical business, and science-based impact.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with GIS, LCA tools, or similar environmental modelling software;
  • Working proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity or proven experience with emerging nature standards and frameworks such as TNFD, SBTN, ACT-D
Responsibilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of projects and services in two key focus areas:

Nature-positive strategies and disclosures using our LUCAS approach (info on the website), including:

  • Supporting clients in designing and implementing corporate nature strategies;
  • Ensure alignment with leading frameworks such as the TNFD LEAP approach, the SBTN 5-Step Process, and the ACT-D Framework;
  • Guide clients in preparing for TNFD and CSRD (e.g. ESRS E4) reporting;
  • Identify opportunities for nature-based solutions (NbS) to contribute credibly to nature and climate objectives.

Net Zero Climate Strategies using our MARC approach (info on the website), including:

  • Support the development and implementation of climate strategies using Etifor’s MARC approach;
  • Support science-based target-setting aligned with the SBTi NZS;
  • Support climate-related impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities assessments;
  • Evaluate and advise on the use of nature-based solutions for climate mitigation, ensuring integrity and alignment with best-practice criteria.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare technical reports, client presentations, and visual tools.
  • Support large, multi-stakeholder projects and knowledge transfer with other programs within Etifor, where relevant
  • Deliver workshops, webinars, and training sessions.
