Description

IntelliSys Solutions Group is an engineering and project management consulting firm, located in South Philadelphia. Our team of developers, engineers, and business analysts work together to improve automation, streamline logistics, and establish quality control for government organizations.
Our team is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to support our Naval Surface Warfare customer based in Carderock, Maryland. This role will be responsible for the design, construction, analysis, evaluation, maintenance and oversight of ship building programs. Candidates should possess the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, efficient, and safe designs that meet regulatory requirements.
This key position is contingent based on award/funding from the customer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 10 years of experience in the design, operation, maintenance, or testing of watercraft to include working with USCG, ABYC, ABS, and DoD standards for watercraft
· 3 years of supervisory experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering from an accredited college or university
· Secret Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Proficiency with marine design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, GHS, etc.)
· Familiarity with Navy ship acquisition processes
· Prior NAVSEA or NSWCCD (Carderock) experience

· Perform hydromechanics, stability, powering, and resistance analyses to ensure optimal vessel performance
· Evaluate survivability, mass properties, structural integrity, materials selection, fabrication methods, and coating systems
· Plan and assess arrangements, weight distribution, loading and docking procedures, hoisting, launch and recovery systems, stowage solutions, and related structures.
· Ship structure and design analysis
· Evaluation of ship performance
· Analysis, calculations and verification of designs
