KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Spearheading Design & Development:

Drive the entire design lifecycle, from meticulous requirements analysis and innovative concept generation to defining general system architecture (utilizing 2D/3D CAD and MBSE models, and single-line diagrams). You’ll also be responsible for critical weight and power estimations, configuring state-of-the-art propulsion and energy plant solutions, and mastering main ship balances.

  • Pioneering New Concepts:

Critically evaluate and assess emerging marine engineering concepts, including leading Proof-of-Concept (PoC) initiatives, and deliver insightful reports on your findings.

  • Translating Vision into Reality:

Develop detailed models, comprehensive technical documentation, and precise equipment specifications. You will articulate complex calculations, concepts, and data through compelling reports and presentations.

  • Fostering Collaborative Excellence:

Ensure seamless and effective communication with all project stakeholders and internal departments to achieve optimized project outcomes and foster a truly integrated design environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Educational Excellence: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven Expertise: A minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in design, proposal development, and R&D practices within the naval shipbuilding, maritime, or offshore industries.
  • A Track Record of Innovation: Demonstrable success in delivering impactful innovations within your marine engineering field of expertise.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity and skill with relevant CAD software and engineering calculation tools.
  • Clear Communication: A strong command of the English language (both written and verbal) is essential. Proficiency in Dutch is a valuable asset.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
