MIN QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Electrical, Electronics & Communication.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in marine field.
  • Able to understand basic English and to follow work instructions of clients / supervisors / Mangers.
  • Desirable to have a GMDSS operators’ certificate.
  • Should have basic math skills.
  • UAE driving License is an added advantage.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Good product knowledge of Marine Navigation and communication systems.
  • Able to handle jobs with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Service Technician will be responsible to preventive maintenance or installation of navigational equipment’s on board commercial or leisure marine vessels.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation of marine navigation equipment including but not limited to radar, sonar, gyrocompasses, autopilots, ECDIS, GMDSS, etc.
  • Performs predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance of NAV COM equipment’s.
  • Be competent with marine equipment and integrated systems in line with their experience and qualifications.
  • Load and update manufacturers software, computer backups, and data retrieval.
  • Maintain diagnostic and operational tools, support, and test equipment.
  • Able to perform trouble shooting and timely repairs.
  • Sound knowledge of spares and able to list down the requirements as per project requirement.
  • Able to use hand & power tools.
  • Carrying out the correct isolation and disconnection procedures.
  • Climb antenna support structures to various heights for maintenance and installation of antenna systems.
  • Responding promptly to problems according to approved procedures.
  • Maintains logs of faults, resolutions, and maintenance.
  • Keeping the work area within your own responsibility clean and free of hazards.
  • Require attending offshore jobs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety & environment regulations.
