JOB DESCRIPTION: Navigator Supervisor  Reports To: Director of Behavioral Health and Residential Services  Position Status: Full Time / Exempt (40 HRS)   POSITION SUMMARY: The Navigator supervisor in Gateway Center’s Crisis Response Navigation Program is responsible for supervising Housing Navigators. The Housing Navigator supervisor must have extensive experience working with individuals that are homeless, knowledge of Housing First, harm reduction strategies, local homeless services, and housing subsidy and support programs (i.e. Rapid Re-housing, Section 8, Shelter + Care, and VASH) are preferred. Housing Navigation services support households at the top of the housing queue through the process from homelessness to permanent housing. Housing navigators provide navigation support services that will assist with reducing barriers to housing; identify housing resources; and reduce the time the most vulnerable clients remain homeless. Housing Navigators will provide housing navigation services to ensure clients are supported in gathering documentation needed for housing screening and placement. Assistance may include, but not limited to, assisting with obtaining ID, homeless history, documentation of disability and other required documents for housing. The Housing Navigator will provide an efficient approach to providing homeless individuals and families with services and housing as part of the Crisis Response and Housing Navigation program’s streamlined screening, assessment, linkage and matching process that is based on client’s needs and strengths  The Housing Navigator supervisor under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and Residential Services, provides client advocacy, case management, benefit establishment, linkage to mental health/substance abuse services, linkage to stable housing and all other supportive services as needed. The position is expected to use evidence-based practice models such as Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Empower and encourage client participation in activities and events that increase ability to remain linked to care and/or behavioral health care, identify employment options or cash benefits, and identify housing options * support a team of 3 Navigators  * Build and foster internal and external relationships with partners that will support clients in their ability to reach their goals * Support and monitor individual progress through case management notes * On-site visits to the crisis location includes but are not limited to under bridges, public parks, encampments, natural elements, or another place where people experiencing unsheltered homelessness may reside, assessment of the situation and appropriate linkage to services. * Conducts comprehensive and qualitative housing needs assessments within required timeframe * Coordinates with the planning and implementation of services that meets the clients’ needs to become stably housed * Able to drive company passenger van * Makes housing referrals and accompany clients on initial property visits * Assist clients with housing applications, complete supportive and subsidized housing paperwork, survey rental market for affordable housing, and advocate for clients with prospective landlords * Identify appropriate permanent housing options for clients, such as, subsidized housing Section 8, Shelter Plus Care, VASH, permanent supportive housing, affordable and market rate housing, and other housing opportunities * Confers with case manager and program supervisor on all cases * Participates in case staffing, including multi-disciplinary team meetings * Complies with all agency confidentiality standards * Represents clients and advocates on their behalf in order to access the benefits and services needed * Document client contacts within 72 hours and maintain up-to-date information on services provided to participants in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and hard copy case records * Submit monthly reports to Director * Oversee the preparation and review of team reports to maintain data integrity and ensure all information is accurate, consistent, and aligned with funding and organizational standards. * Participate in staff development and all required Agency meetings * Other duties as assigned  QUALIFICATIONS: * Master’s degree in social service field preferred (i.e. social work, counseling, child and family services, human services) * Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field accepted * Valid Georgia State Driver's License * Strong organizational skills  * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Word and other Software Packages * Flexibility (may require some evenings and weekend work)  PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
