JOB SUMMARY

As an important part of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Intelligence (DI) provides intelligence analysis, specialist outputs and advice that supports decision making across government. At the heart of DI is the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI).
The Technology branch of NCGI (NCGI-T) is one of the enabling teams, providing and supporting IT infrastructure, Communication, and Information Systems (CIS) services and project support, enabling NCGI staff to work efficiently with the appropriate resources whilst assuring the delivery of new technology solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We currently have an exciting vacancy within the Dissemination Team. This role is part of a centralised team who deliver a range of products to the organisation, and follows the Dissemination Process within NCGI, DI and wider afield.
You will deliver and manage the Dissemination Process within Defence Intelligence ensuring that all disciplines of intelligence products are available on the relevant systems.
Further to this you will support NCGI-T in its engagement with Partners Across Government (PAG) and the United Kingdom Intelligence Community (UKIC) to maximise and standardise the dissemination of DI products across multiple systems and at different security levels.
The role is predominantly a data handling and dissemination role. Although knowledge and understanding of coding languages could potentially be useful, this would be on occasion and this position is not considered a development role.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the NCGI-T Dissemination Team customer focal point for product dissemination, ensuring that all DI and customer intelligence products are available on the relevant systems wherever possible.
  • Collaborate with analysts, mission teams, contractors and other Partners to increase the availability and visibility of DI products in MoD, UKIC and partner intelligence product stores.
  • Operate as deputy content lead for the product management & dissemination tools operated within DI. Ensuring continuity of service and regularly updated content in line with DI’s mission.
  • Resolve product dissemination specific issues and repair where possible. Raise any specific technical problems via the Dissemination lead, or the Service Desk as necessary.
  • Use coding languages such as Visual Basic, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, and CSS to automate and improve intelligence dissemination processes according to business needs.
  • Actively configure, maintain, and develop Power Platform intelligence workflows.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and training packages relevant to DI end product reporting and, where necessary, assist in the delivery of this training as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide advice and guidance to our customers on the use of task management tools, Metadata solutions and all product stores as necessary, ensuring dissemination processes, standards and policies are adhered to.
  • Provide the knowledge and technical skills to provide guidance and troubleshooting to enable analysts to exploit intelligence tools, product stores and applications across the intelligence estate.
  • Undertake training and personal development.
