QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 3 years Safety Advisory experience in heavy equipment or heavy civil construction, Mining
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (current abstract must be provided)
NCSO designation / or equivalent is required for this position
Must be physically and mentally fit with the ability to safely drive in mining atmospheres alone
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and listening skills
Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing.
Pay will be discussed directly with qualified applicants.
Work is located in Elkford, BC

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the capability to work under the direction of HSE leadership on multiple tasks requiring judgment to resolve problems
Works with employees, supervisors and management to identify potential hazards
Encourages and promotes a safe work culture with a positive attitude and team approach
Performs various levels of worksite inspections and audits and follows through with appropriate levels of coaching and support for all corrective actions
Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions. Complete incident causation analysis, develop, implement and follow up on corrective actions
Participate in toolbox meetings, weekly safety meetings and client and HSE team meetings as required
Assistance in creating Job Safety Analysis and perform updates as conditions and processes change
Maintain a working knowledge of current OH&S legislation, Federal and Provincial laws as well as company standards and policies
Provide mentoring to workers and leaders in maintaining safe work habits and practices
Participate and contribute with ongoing procedural, policy and other documentation development and updates as required
Proactively identifies leading indicators and trends in the field and communicates the same back to the field and corporate
Investigates incidents and near misses with foremen and other key management
Communicates established policies, practices and procedures to workers and remain informed on changes provided from the Corporate HSE Manager
Ensure Client specific COVID protocols are in being followed and in compliance
