We are seeking a NDE Assistant for a position in Plaquemine, LA. The NDE Assistant assists in performing duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance with reference code. Position reports directly to Level 2 Inspector performing the following methods: MT, PT, UT, UTT, ET, TFCT, IR, & PMI. Non-exempt role; Reports to Level 2 NDT; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical education classes
  • Familiarity of nondestructive testing methods basics
  • Knowledge of nondestructive testing equipment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
  • Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
  • Local candidates preferred
  • TWIC card is required

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Learn all aspects of inspection services from a technician; assist with nondestructive testing equipment set-up; assist in calibrating nondestructive testing equipment; assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with procedures and standards; assist in performing other job-related tasks as assigned by certified inspector/technician; perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
