The NDE Assistant will assist NDE Technicians with various duties related to performing Non-destructive Tests (radiography, magnetic particle, ultrasonics, etc.). This is an entry level position, the NDE assistant will receive both on the job and classroom training and development (no previous experience required).
WAV’s main office is in Brooks, AB, however, job sites are located throughout Western Canada.

Reports to: Supervisor / Manager

REQUIREMENTS

• An interest in developing a career in NDE
• Grade 12 diploma (minimum). Ability to understand angles and basic math formulas
• Previous Work Experience
• Class 5 Drivers License with 3 years of insurance history.
• Able to pass drug and alcohol screening during hiring process (annually after being hired). Able to pass a fitness test.
• Able to communicate in English (verbally and in writing)
• Computer Skills (experience using Microsoft Excel and Word, email, etc.)

• Set up and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment
• Assist NDT Technicians in the calibration of NDT equipment
• Assist NDT Technicians with inspections using various NDT equipment and methods
• Record results of inspections
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
