About Jakaranda Australia

Jakaranda Australia provides NDIS support across Brisbane North and Moreton Bay. We work alongside participants to provide practical support that helps them build confidence, develop skills, connect with their community and work towards their individual goals.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide individualised support to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing person-centred support based on each participant’s individual needs and goals
• Assisting with daily living activities
• Cleaning and domestic assistance
• Supporting participants with community access and appointments
• Shopping and assisting with everyday errands
• Supporting participants to develop and maintain life skills
• Providing employment-focused and capacity-building support
• Assisting participants to work towards their NDIS goals
• Encouraging independence, confidence and community participation
• Completing required documentation and shift notes
• Following participant support plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures
• Maintaining professional boundaries and respecting participant privacy and dignity

About You

We are looking for Support Workers who are:

• Compassionate and genuinely care about helping others
• Reliable, punctual and dependable
• Respectful of individual choice, privacy and independence
• Confident communicating with participants, families and other professionals
• Able to work independently while also being part of a team
• Flexible and willing to support participants with different needs
• Professional and committed to providing high-quality support
• Comfortable completing documentation and following support plans
• Able to build positive and respectful relationships with participants

Requirements

Applicants will be required to have, or be willing to obtain, relevant requirements, including:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check where applicable
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Australian Driver’s Licence
• Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in disability support is desirable but not required

Availability

We are particularly interested in applicants who have availability across weekdays and/or weekends, with the potential for regular ongoing shifts for the right person.
