JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE NDT LEVEL II

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required; An Associates is desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • 1-4 years of experience in the role is required; must be able to meet the requirements of NAS410 and have experience in the NDT function; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Authorized for FPI NDT level 1 required.
  • Authorized for FPI Level 2 preferred, FPI experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing
  • Comfort working in a constantly changing environment; Adaptability & flexibility are critical in this role
  • Strong problem-solving skills; Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Must have a valid US Passpor

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for processing and evaluating welded and machined components using the Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection method to Barnes Warren procedures along with customer specifications.
This position sits in Warren, MI and will report to the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with written instructions approved by the Level 3.
  • Conduct system performance checks per approved technique.
  • Carry out any necessary preparation of parts before or after inspection.
  • Shall be able to follow work instructions written or orally in accordance with the techniques and methods for which certified.
  • Conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance and rejection and document results.
  • Be fully aware of the scope and limitations of the technique/method for which they are certified.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance to Trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards and contractual documents that control methods used.
  • Have a basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Be capable of performing visual inspection of parts using inspection equipment (borescopes, magnifiers, etc.)
  • Be capable of performing hardness per customer specifications
