We are looking for an experienced Neapolitan Pizza Chef to join our team at Il Capitanos, an independent restaurant known for authentic Italian cooking, a welcoming atmosphere, and a commitment to serving Real Neapolitan Pizza.
This is not just another kitchen role – we are seeking someone who truly values the tradition and craft of Neapolitan pizza, from long dough fermentation to cooking in our AVPN-approved pizza oven. The ideal candidate will also bring wider experience in Italian cuisine, with confidence preparing antipasti dishes, working with fryers, and supporting the team across service.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Neapolitan Pizza Chef (working with oven’s essential).
• Broader knowledge of Italian cooking, including antipasti and fryer work.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy service.
• A positive, professional attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
• Passion for authentic Italian cuisine and pride in presentation

• Preparing and managing dough following traditional Neapolitan methods.
• Cooking pizzas to AVPN standards.
• Preparing classic Italian antipasti and side dishes.
• Confident use of fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen at all times.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy services.
• Contributing ideas for seasonal specials and menu development.
• Prepping the kitchen before service and closing down to a high standard.
