Description Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager – Days Location: Austin, TX Compensation: Up to $150,000 based on experience Relocation: Open to candidates willing to relocate Schedule: Full-Time, Days (No Weekends) Employment Type: Nursing Leadership We are seeking an experienced NICU Manager to lead daily operations in a high-volume Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This leader is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered neonatal care, overseeing clinical staff, and maintaining operational excellence across a large NICU footprint. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience in acute care, a passion for neonatal services, and the ability to support clinical teams in a fast-paced environment. Role Overview: The NICU Manager oversees the daily function and staffing of the department, ensuring that evidence-based practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are consistently met. This leader evaluates nursing care delivery, mentors staff, promotes accountability, and supports initiatives that enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes. The Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective patient care, facilitate throughput, and maintain a culture focused on safety, service, and continual improvement. Key Responsibilities: • Support reduction of clinical variation and promote efficient, cost-effective care delivery • Ensure adherence to internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, designations, and regulatory standards • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and ensure equipment is properly maintained per regulatory and accreditation requirements • Oversee admission and discharge processes to support efficient throughput and high-quality neonatal care • Coordinate interdisciplinary care within and across departments; ensure staff assignments match clinical competencies • Lead efforts to achieve exceptional patient and family experience and instill accountability for positive interactions • Review feedback mechanisms to identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction and implement enhancement strategies • Ensure compliance with evidence-based practices that elevate patient experience and customer service • Build a collaborative environment with subject matter experts and department leaders to drive improved outcomes and service • Identify staff development needs, support training initiatives, and promote professional growth among team members Qualifications: • BSN required • Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare experience • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting • Specialty certification required within 6 months of hire • Active RN license in state of practice or compact eligibility; Texas license must be obtained within required timeframe if compact out-of-state • BLS required • ACLS preferred • For L&D background candidates: NRP, FHM, and RNC-OB preferred
