As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining multi-tenant web applications, ensuring the performance and security of SQL databases. Working closely with developers, managers, and clients, you will be part of a team that combines cutting-edge technologies with established tools, offering a varied and stimulating technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse user needs, and develop robust software solutions.
- Design and optimise database schemas, queries, and stored procedures in SQL to ensure performance and scalability.
- Develop backend services and APIs using .NET Core and C#.
- Create responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in line with industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, delivering timely resolutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Participate in code reviews and Agile processes such as sprint planning and stand-ups.
Essential Skills & Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the following:
Web Stack:
- C# .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework
- Experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
- Knowledge of older technologies, such as ASP.NET Webforms, ODBC, .NET Framework 4.x, Membership, and Microsoft RDLC reports
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol, asynchronous development, threading, and resource management
SQL Server:
- Expertise in writing stored procedures, indexing, and query optimisation
- Proficiency in identifying performance bottlenecks and developing maintenance and failover plans
Desirable Skills
- Experience with version control systems (Git or TFS)
- Knowledge of authentication patterns, SSO, JWT, and basic cryptography
- Deployment of web applications in high-availability environments
- API development and integration
- Power BI experience
- Low-level programming and bitwise operations
- Windows server management, including SSL certificates and network load balancing
- Experience with self-hosted email servers, DNS management, and domain configurations
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure), microservices, and mobile app development (Xamarin or Blazor)
- Familiarity with Linux-based servers and network routing
