Job Summary
A NetSecOps Engineer at Equinix is tasked with designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions to safeguard the infrastructure from cyber threats while ensuring optimal performance. Key duties include reviewing firewall rules, managing firewalls and load balancing for various services, overseeing enterprise security infrastructure, monitoring network traffic for anomalies, responding to security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with IT teams to uphold network security.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years progressive experience in network security and firewall management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Computer Science, Business or InformationManagement or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of configuring and managing Palo Alto Networksfirewalls, including setting up security policies, network traffic rules, andvarious configurations
  • Familiarity with the Palo Alto Web Interface and CLI for firewall management

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 103,000 - 155,000 USD / Annual
Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 85,000 - 127,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.

Responsibilities

Security Architecture

  • Fields, receives and reviews security architecture requests from internal customers
  • Assists in reviewing and assessing adherence of new security architectures & change requests to guidelines and rejecting ifsaid architectures & change requests do not meet requirements
  • Researches security best practices for firewalls & network topologies
  • Reports and makes recommendations to senior members of the architecture team for policy revisions, changes and additions

Security Engineering

  • Executes proofs of concepts that improve efficiencies or user experience for end-users
  • Delivers fully functional solutions that leverage existing infrastructure optimally
  • Responsible for anticipating technical roadblocks and escalating issues
  • Responsible for managing all technical aspects of implementation

Security Operations

  • Operates and troubleshoots next-generation firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS) systems

Security Incident Response

  • Investigates, researches and analyzes security incidents as they are escalated or reported
