Afrirent Holdings, a group of companies operating in the Mobility and Hospitality Sectors, is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our IT department as a Network Administrator.
The Network Administrator will monitor and manage network and security systems across Afrirent’s networks; identify networks and cyber security risks and mitigate these through the deployment of technologies, processes, and user awareness programs. The role is also responsible for reporting on security breaches and defending Afrirent’s systems against cyber threats such as flaws, viruses, and hacking attempts

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Information Technology / Computer Science
• NSE4 Certification
• CompTIA Network+ (Foundational networking knowledge)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (Routing, switching, and network troubleshooting)
• CompTIA Security+ (Foundational cybersecurity practices)

IDEAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (Advanced networking) will be advantageous
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate – cloud networking will be advantageous
• Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) (For Juniper environments) will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years’ network security experience
• At least 3 years’ experience in firewall technologies
• Experience with FortiGate, Forti Analyzer, and other Fortinet Products
• Knowledge on the ability to configure / unify technologies

• Conducts continuous scanning and security monitoring of all IT cybersecurity domains, i.e. Networks, Firewalls, Anti-virus, Mobile devices, and Patch management
• Configures, maintains and troubleshoots LAN, WLAN, network segments and security architecture of the server as per the IT policy
• Implements network security protocols and manages access controls
• Performs routine network maintenance and system upgrades
• Generates and maintains the virtual private network, firewalls, web protocols and email security domains
• Installs and manages networking hardware including routers, switches and firewalls
• Resolves existing network and security issues including hardware malfunctions
• Monitors network performance and ensures network availability and reliability
• Maintains and implements network security standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
• Performs continuous threat and vulnerability management monitoring; analyses and assesses potential security risks; and recommends solutions to deal with such incidents
• Ensures that the network and security architecture meet cyber security requirements
• Identifies the dependencies between the various areas of the business and ensures that various security components are aligned
• Implements and updates ICT security policies and programs and ongoing activities to preserve the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the information resources in compliance with applicable security governance and standards
• Manages security events effectively in compliance with Security policies
• Makes recommendations to upgrade network and security hardware equipment
• Implements key Information Security projects
• Schedules project meetings and documents the configurations implemented for future reference
• Operates and controls the Information Security Management System (ISMS) by selecting, applying and adhering to good information security practices
• Conducts root cause analysis and gathers information on internal and external security intelligence for investigations into security incidents
• Investigates, responds, and actions information security incidents
• Ensures that all internal and external stakeholders including employees, suppliers and partners implement security to required standards and maintains positive relationships with vendors
• Collaborates closely with IT teams to design and implement network infrastructure
• Conducts IT security awareness-related information sessions / workshops to employees to promote and increase IT security compliance
