Job Summary:
Network Administrators install, maintain, upgrade, and provide support for network communication software and hardware at IBC Bank. The Network Administrator needs to be able to understand, diagnose, escalate, and resolve network problems quickly including support after hours. The individual will professionally communicate technical concerns and solutions to peers, end users, and management with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
Network Administrators will work with senior members of the network team and other IT departments to install, monitor, and maintain our network infrastructure that includes routers, switches, network appliances, monitoring systems, and network management systems. Some travel with overnight stays may be required.

SKILLS

Technical Skills:

  • Network routing and switching fundamentals.
  • Network troubleshooting and troubleshooting tools
  • Cisco IOS and utilities.
  • The ability to interpret system alerts and logs.
  • The ability to interpret and modify scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with software defined networking.
  • Familiarity with computer/server operating systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Must be customer service focused.
  • Good written and oral communication with peers, management, and end users.
  • The ability to work with and support peers, end users and management in a fast paced, team environment.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and requests.
  • Flexibility to work after hours for projects, maintenance, and support.

EDUCATION

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field or 3+ years of support experience with networks, servers, desktops, and business IT services.
  • Preferred certifications include Net+, Cisco certifications or similar network technology certifications.
