Minimum Starting Salary: $70,176
Job Summary: The Network Administrator for the Nashville International Airport’s (BNA) network environment is responsible for maintaining and administering voice and computer networks. Primary duties include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, telecommunications technology, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks. Works closely with network users in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Networks: Strong knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model
- Cisco: Skill in managing and troubleshooting Cisco network hardware.
- Cisco: Skill in managing and troubleshooting Cisco Spanning-tree protocol.
- Network Infrastructures: Skill in configuring hierarchical network infrastructures.
- Extensive network routing protocols and troubleshooting skills in BGP and OSPF
- Networks: Knowledge of LAN/WAN systems configuration, implementation, and administration.
- IP Networks: Skill in sub-netting and managing internet protocol (IP) networks.
- Ability to create technical documentation and reporting.
- Telecommunications: Knowledge of supporting PBX and voice mail systems.
- Deductive Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
- Running and analyzing sniffer traces with deep TCP/IP protocol understanding
- Computer Systems: Knowledge of computer systems, technology, software, and applications.
- Information Systems: Knowledge of information systems and their applications.
- Data Security: Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to data security and retention requirements.
- Microsoft Windows: Skill in using the Microsoft Windows operating system.
- Problem Solving: Skill in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Virtual Environment: Skill in managing virtual and cloud-based environments.
- Computer Use: Skill in using a personal computer, the internet, and other software to perform job-related functions.
