Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Technical certifications such as MCSE, CompTIA A+, or documented vendor-specific training.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in desktop and network support within a medium-to-large network environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues; experience in system imaging, replication, and software deployment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and document completed tasks/lessons learned.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills (written and verbal).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and transport computers, printers, and hardware weighing up to 25 lbs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (HIGHLY DESIRABLE):

  • IBM iSeries operations and Tyler Technologies ERP software.
  • Mimecast email security and Fortinet/FortiGate firewall administration.
  • Aruba HP switches, Malwarebytes Cloud, Symantec Enterprise AV.

Responsibilities

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

This position provides comprehensive support for the County’s network infrastructure, software applications, and hardware systems. The role requires a strong blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, and effective task management. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and support of servers, network components, telecommunications systems, document management system, domain management, desktop systems, and peripheral equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain internal and external networks; diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Monitor, maintain, and proactively ensure health and uptime of all servers and related infrastructure.
  • Apply OS, antivirus/security updates, patches, and enforce policy restrictions.
  • Perform routine server/database backups; review system logs daily; document system health checks and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement and support cybersecurity measures to protect systems from unauthorized access or damage.
  • Respond to and resolve end-user issues involving desktop/laptop computers, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Assist with the support and testing of the Disaster Recovery (DR) site and execution of Business Continuity Plans.
  • Utilize imaging technology to deploy and maintain desktop systems and associated resources.
  • Maintain IT equipment inventory; ensure software licenses and support contracts are up to date.
  • Install, maintain, and repair printers, plotters, and high-speed scanners.
  • Support and maintain the Registry of Deeds’ document management system.
  • Provide assistance to external users accessing website functions and services.
  • Stay current with cybersecurity trends and IT standards by attending relevant training.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with IT team members, management, and support staff.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
