Description POSITION SUMMARY: Works primarily with physical networking including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Displays advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Layer 3 routing, and firewall rules. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves systems hardware, software, and networking issues. Installs firmware patches, and upgrades systems as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Demonstrates a strong understanding of layer 3 routing with the ability to create/manage routing tables in layer 3 switches and appliances; ability to configure and deploy wireless appliances in a network; configure and install firewall appliances. · Configure and installs WLAN's and VLAN's with proper segmentation to optimize network traffic flow. Deploys network segmentation for access control and security · Configure, install, and manage firewall and network security appliances · Manages network monitoring systems, acts on alerts · Design network layout that accommodates the needs of various sites OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: · Project lead on network lifecycle projects; project team member (other technology projects) · Manages contractors installing cabling and physical networking appliances · Recommends hardware and develops relationships with providers and resellers · Configures and manages Microsoft Azure networking layer · Assists Azure Administrator with network and identity access · Works in Autotask helpdesk ticketing system · Assists in managing the on-premises and cloud storage environments · Other technical tasks as assigned by supervisor Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Required: · 2-4 years’ work experience managing networks; technical certifications by HPE/Aruba, Cisco and/or Microsoft · CompTIA A+; CompTIA Network + · 2-4 years’ work experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, network design, and security · Must demonstrate strong grasp of IT best practices within an organization · Candidates must demonstrate his or her record of accomplishment in managing projects and working as part of a team to accomplish common objectives. · Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and people skills. · Our selected candidate will possess attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, juggle multiple projects, and ability to set as well as meet deadlines. Preferred: · 4-year degree preferred in Computer Science, Business, Management, or computer related field · Familiarity with mobile operating system platforms e.g., Android and iOS
