Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Technical Support Specialist to join our IT team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career to gain hands-on experience with network administration, desktop support, and IT infrastructure management while developing troubleshooting and client service skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent work experience
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical environments
  • Customer service mindset with patience and professionalism

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar industry certifications
  • Experience with Active Directory administration
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems

Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second-level technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including switches, routers, and wireless access points
  • Monitor network performance and assist with basic network maintenance tasks
  • Help manage user accounts in Active Directory and support password resets
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications across the organization
  • Document technical procedures and maintain accurate IT asset inventory
  • Assist with backup monitoring and basic disaster recovery procedures
  • Support video conferencing systems and collaboration tools
  • Participate in IT projects including hardware deployments and system upgrades
