JOB DESCRIPTION:
The IMAC Senior Technician will be responsible for executing Infrastructure-Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMAC) activities across designated data center facilities. This includes installation, relocation, decommissioning, remote hands support, and structured cabling tasks. The technician will also manage inventory, update systems, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Installation & Addition
Receive, inventory, and tag incoming hardware.
Transport and install equipment per rack and power assignments.
Install copper and fiber jumpers and route cables to minimize airflow interference.
Update ServiceNow CMDB and DCIM systems.
Perform fiber optic splicing and install rack blanking panels.
Move & Relocate
De-install and re-install equipment and cabling.
Pack and transport equipment locally or cross-country.
Update inventory systems and notify remote teams with tracking info.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Decommissioning
Safely remove and pack equipment.
Complete administrative updates in CMDB and DCIM systems.
E-Waste Management
Prepare decommissioned equipment for disposal.
Secure and document HDDs for shredding.
Submit and manage e-waste requests and vendor coordination.
Remote Hands Support
Perform Level 1 tasks such as power cycling, component swaps, cable tracing, and basic troubleshooting.
Assist with visual verification, labeling, and inventorying.
Support tape management and Telco circuit testing.
Coordination & Process Management
Coordinate staffing and workflow across sites.
Maintain inventory of consumables and tools.
Provide monthly inventory reports and improvement recommendations.
Structured Cabling Maintenance
Install, maintain, and de-install copper and fiber infrastructure.
Update documentation and panel schedules.
Support shipping and receiving logistics.
Site-Specific Support
Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
Coordinate with colocation providers where applicable.
DESIRED SKILLS:
A minimum of 5–7 years of relevant industry experience is required
Certifications in Any of the two- Corning Fiber Installation (CFI), Panduit, CommScope SYSTIMAX, CompTIA A+, and TIA-942.
Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB, and DCIM systems.
Familiarity with low-voltage electrical work and applicable licensing.
Strong organizational, writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team across multiple locations.
Additional Requirements:
Participation in internal training programs covering security, safety, and reporting procedures.

Data Center/Site Audit experience, if any
