JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization’s computer networks and provide support for end-user devices and software. The ideal candidate will ensure network reliability, security, and performance, while troubleshooting complex network issues across PCs, Macs, other major business software, and occasionally home user setups. Emergency availability may be required for urgent support situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Experience supporting PC (Windows), Mac (macOS), major business software applications, and home user setups.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Connectwise).
  • Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency support situations.

Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and outages; perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Provide technical support for end-user devices, including PCs (Windows), Macs (macOS), other major business software (e.g., Microsoft 365, ERP systems, collaboration tools), and occasional home users.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and diagrams.
  • Assist with network capacity planning and scalability projects.
  • Support integration of cloud-based solutions and hybrid network environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and end-users.
  • Be available for emergency support situations as needed.
