REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven hands-on network operation and engineering experience is a must
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
  • Strong Knowledge in network design including routing, switching and security.
  • Experience in enterprise network architecture planning or design concepts such as network segmentation or network segregation is mandatory.
  • Experience managing SDN Solution (E.g. Cisco ACI) , Firewall and Load Balancers would be
  • required.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and principles.

Responsibilities

A. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • The primary role of the Network Engineer is to support our Data Centre and the Core Network infrastructure to ensure smooth daily operation and its maintenance. This includes project delivery and subsequent refresh program for all the in scope infrastructure.

B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless, Tacacs, and Firewall.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, ACI, remote access VPN, and microsegmentation products.
  • Support network upgrades and migrations, including planning, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support system integration and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, IP addressing, and change logs.
  • Respond to incidents and outages, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when necessary.
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
