Description CarShield is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to its growing infrastructure team. Position responsibilities include designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. Essential Functions Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Arranging scheduled upgrades Investigating faults in the network Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases Reporting network status to key stakeholders Requirements Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience 6+ years of experience in networking and 4+ years in cloud engineering Strong understanding of networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls and VPN appliances. (Preferably Dell, Cisco, Sonicwall) Deep operational experience ensuring efficient troubleshooting and speed to problem resolution Strong working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including BGP, IPsec, network segmentation, VRFs, Switching, VLANs and load balancers. Strong understanding of identity management, federated identity systems (Microsoft ADFS), MFA, and Active Directory integration with cloud apps and Azure AD Current knowledge of DevOps, containerization, security, and observability Scripting ability to enable automation and deployment of infrastructure as code, interacting with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) with Terraform, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, and ability to communicate complex technical ideas to many audiences
