OVERVIEW:

Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT), a leading small business cybersecurity and engineering firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructures. This role is crucial in safeguarding our enterprise network and ensuring optimal performance across all systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of networking protocols, security frameworks, and hands on experience with firewall and intrusion detection systems. This position will be hybrid in St. Petersburg, FL with a Secret Clearance or Higher with up to 40% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans, deploy, configure, and manage enterprise network security applications and toolsets.
  • Install and configure network security equipment.
  • Design, install, configure, and support wide area network (WAN), local area network (LAN), internet network, intranet, and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Implement and enforce network security best practices (e.g., segmentation, access control, IDS/IPS).
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to detect and respond to network threats.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and vulnerability scans.
  • Maintain documentation for network configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Evaluate new networking technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure performance and security.
  • Provide connectivity assistance and support problem determination for UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems across multiple networks.
  • Develop network architectures, assist network management architecture, and document the architecture.
  • Develop test plans and network integration efforts, conduct testing, and develop network operation plan.
  • Experience with performance analysis, systems software, and systems architecture.
  • Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on empirical monitoring and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving and ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly, while successfully handling multiple priorities.
  • Must work well as part of a team in a high-energy environment; must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and good time-management abilities.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience commensurate with network engineering, network administration, security engineering, or systems administration.
  • CCNA and/or CCNP, CISSP, Security+
  • Certifications with Network Security Platforms (FireEye, Splunk, etc.)
