JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance. This role requires a strong understanding of both local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), as well as experience with various networking protocols and security measures. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support our IT infrastructure and enhance network security.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in network engineering or a similar role within IT infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP(S), FTP/SFTP, NFS, and load balancing techniques.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows Server, macOS, BSD Solaris.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and Citrix.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and practices within AWS or Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage network solutions including LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco ASA), and Meraki devices.
  • Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds and PRTG to ensure high availability.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security measures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols.
  • Troubleshoot network issues related to routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
  • Manage user authentication through LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, and PKI systems.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate cloud services (AWS, Azure) into the existing infrastructure.
  • Develop scripts for automation using Python or Bash for system administration tasks.
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes in accordance with ITIL practices.
  • Provide network support for VoIP systems and telecommunication services.
