The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
JOB SUMMARY
Network Engineers are responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing the institution’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and high performance for all users. This role involves diagnosing and resolving network issues, implementing scalable and resilient network solutions, and collaborating with other IT teams to enhance the overall network environment. Network Engineers play a critical role in supporting the institution’s technological needs and ensuring seamless access to digital resources.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced certification may be preferred or required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Two or more years of relevant experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
Seeking a Network Technician or Junior Network Engineer with 1¿2 years of hands-on experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Preferred solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols), possess experience with network monitoring tools, and be comfortable performing routine maintenance and upgrades in a dynamic IT environment.
SKILLS
This job requires intermediate level design and maintenance skills in network architecture including applicable systems and network software and hardware.
