Description We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer II to work on-site for one of our clients in the Ft. Worth, TX area. This is a contracted position focused on a specific enterprise network implementation and upgrade project. On-site, Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Plans and implements complex enterprise networks, including related hardware and software, for a major client project. Designs and documents comprehensive network architecture, configurations, and topologies. Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps. Establishes and enforces security, connectivity, and access parameters (firewalls, IDS/IPS). Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure for performance and scalability. Tests and tunes network security devices and systems to ensure high availability. Programs and configures advanced routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice/VoIP). Manages network services from planning phase through successful implementation for the client project. Serves as an escalation point for complex network troubleshooting and root cause analysis during implementation Requirements SKILLS/ABILITIES: Solid knowledge of core routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP). In-depth understanding of switching technologies (VLANs, STP). Proficient in configuring and managing enterprise-grade firewalls. Excellent communication skills for documenting designs and collaborating with client teams. Strong problem-solving abilities and sense of urgency for incident response. Accurate and detail oriented for maintaining precise network configurations. WORKING CONDITIONS: On-site presence required in Ft. Worth, TX, at the client location. Drug-Free Workplace Program. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred. Industry certifications are highly preferred. Background check required. Drug screen required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Solid knowledge of network hardware and software. Strong understanding of security technologies and best practices (VPNs, ACLs). Familiarity with network monitoring and packet analysis tools. REQUIRED BACKGROUNDS (Experience): 2-5 years of professional experience as a Network Engineer or similar role. Proven experience managing enterprise-level routing and switching infrastructure. Experience with firewall management and security implementation. Experience with voice/VoIP communications technologies.
