JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Network Engineer II, you will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of a Fortinet-based network spanning on-premise data centers, branch locations, and Azure cloud environments. You’ll manage routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VPN connectivity, while helping transition legacy platforms to Fortinet.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you’ll ensure secure, high-performance connectivity and collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support cross-platform initiatives.

Areas of Responsibility :

  • Design, implement, and maintain Fortinet-based network infrastructure, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
  • Administer and support Fortinet SD-WAN, site-to-site VPNs, user remote access (SSL/IPSec), and UTM features such as Web Filtering, Antivirus, and Application Control.
  • Participate in the after-hours On-Call rotation, supporting critical networking issues and outages.
  • Maintain and support a hybrid network environment that includes Fortinet, Cisco, and legacy Palo Alto platforms, with a strong focus on Fortinet as the primary vendor.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure network controls align with organizational cybersecurity goals and compliance standards.
  • Monitor and enforce network security policies, firewall rules, and access control in accordance with security best practices and organizational policy.
  • Ensure high availability and redundancy of critical network infrastructure across data centers and branch locations.
  • Administer and tune network monitoring and management systems, including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and third-party tools for performance tracking and log analysis.
  • Conduct network assessments, firewall audits, vulnerability scans, and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP addressing, firewall rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support system deployments, upgrades, and patch management for network appliances, with an emphasis on secure and compliant configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network issues, particularly those involving Fortinet hardware or configurations.
  • Engage in research and development related to next-generation firewall features, evolving Fortinet capabilities, and enterprise network trends.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field – or equivalent hands-on experience in enterprise networking.
  • Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification is highly preferred.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification is also acceptable, though Fortinet-specific experience and certifications will be prioritized.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a network engineering role, with a strong focus on Fortinet firewalls and security appliances (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
  • Proven experience with Fortinet SD-WAN, VPN, high availability (HA) configurations, firewall policies, and UTM features.
  • Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, NAT, and network segmentation in Fortinet environments.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing Fortinet infrastructure in a multi-site enterprise setting.
This is NOT a remote work opportunity and does not qualify for sponsorship under the temporary foreign worker program. Applicants with an Active Temporary Work Permit are eligible to apply and must present their passport and Social Insurance Number information during the interview process.
