Description Title: Network Engineer III (Firewall) Location: Remote Start Date: ASAP Clearance required: Secret or TS Certification Required: IAT Level 2, PNCSE Requirements Requirements Role Description: Description: Candidate is to provide Firewall and IDS/IPS support to the Navy program – SUBMEPP. The successful candidate shall have the capability and experience to support, monitor, and provide analysis for all aspects of boundary and LAN security to include but not limited to Firewall and Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS). Requirements: At a minimum in support of this task the contractor will perform the following: Review and monitor firewall rules for SUBMEPP networks, identify issues and deficiencies, take corrective action and advise management of possible incidents. Monitor and maintain policies on SUBMEPP IDS, including Wireless and IPS. Provide packet capture analysis as required during incident resolution using various tools such as Wireshark, and network protocol analyzers. Provide response and support for customer requests for temporary firewall rules and firewall, IDS, and IPS-related issues. Support, maintain and patch all associated cyber security systems to include but not limited to Linux and Windows based operating systems managed by SUBMEPP. Maintain existing and when required create new WPs in support of this task. Provide consultation system expertise during assessments and audits. Respond to possible security incidents, identify false positives where applicable, open incident tickets, perform incident analysis, and close tickets upon completion. Generate monthly security trend analysis reports based on data gathered from various Computer Security Systems. Track, maintain, and manage current lists of open ports via the DoD Ports, Protocols, and services and provide to IA as required. Provide support, analysis and incident resolution; via face-to-face, phone, email, or other electronic means. Specific Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess the following: Experience: 3 to 7 years in a computer science or related field Technical Certification: COMP/TIA Sec+ and Palo Alto and CISCO NextGen Education: 4-year degree in Information Systems field Clearance: SECRET with IT-1 background investigation Position Location: Government-site. Navy Shipyard Portsmouth, NH Hours of Operation: Due to the 24/7 availability requirements of SUBMEPP Information Systems in support of Navy Enterprise customers across the globe, emergent response outside of normal working hours may be required by personnel to ensure continued operations. Response outside of normal working hours is unlikely, but possible. Hours spent outside of the normal working hours will be swapped for normal hour
