Description The Network Engineer provides leadership and executes extensive engineering support on interfacing systems, components, devices and processes by using appropriate methods at every level for Menlo Inc. This position is part of a team that supports network operations for Menlo customers across multiple school districts. The Network Engineer is instrumental in deploying, operating, and scaling network environments that provide high availability, performance, and security. In addition, is involved in the implementation of network infrastructure. This position is a hands-on role working directly with our customers through issues that arise. The Network Engineer is a senior member of the team; as a subject matter expert, this position will also participate in the mentorship and development of mid-level and junior-level teammates. In order to be considered for this opportunity, please fill out a Culture Index survey via the link below: https://surveys.cultureindex.com/s/9XJm6uD0Qb/101567 You Will: Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot high-level network events and malfunctions relating to faulty hardware, software, server, network, and configurations. Assume direct responsibility for establishing functionality within Menlo’s platform, including: New functionality builds Enabling integration with internal applications to enable automatic workflows. Approximately 50% of responsibilities involve working with Cisco Meraki, including configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Meraki devices and networks to ensure optimal client performance and security. Support and troubleshoot WiFi connections for clients, including diagnosing connectivity issues, optimizing signal strength, and ensuring secure and reliable wireless network performance across various environments. Demonstrated experience with networking protocols and services, including DHCP, DNS, TCP, and UDP, to ensure efficient network performance, address resolution, and proper data transmission. Proficient in analyzing packet captures using tools like Wireshark to diagnose network issues, identify anomalies, and optimize network performance for clients. Create a centralized repository for all internal and external documentation, including process, procedure, network, and storage-related materials. Identify opportunities for training and documentation; collaborate with senior team members on delivery. Collaborate with internal teams, in cases of escalated tickets to ensure timely resolutions On-call hours; rotating schedule. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred) CCNA, CCNP, or related certification (preferred) 5+ years of experience in an enterprise system networking environment Experience using automated deployment and maintenance technologies Knowledge of warranty procedures for network and server devices Extensive knowledge and experience understanding industry best practices on network architecture and engineering experience in a robust network, product/service system design, security, and implementation strategies The ability to absorb and retain information quickly with a high attention to detail Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, demonstrated by maintaining composure, positivity, and professionalism in challenging or heightened situations Exceptional judgment skills, demonstrated by the ability to analyze situations thoroughly and promptly offer effective solutions The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users effectively
