Description
Overview NSC Global is seeking a skilled and reliable Network Field Service Engineer to join our team onsite at client in the Charleston/Ridgeville area. This is a critical role ensuring the connectivity and operational efficiency of a high-output factory environment. As a purely onsite engineer, you will be the "hands and eyes" on the ground, responsible for everything from high-level troubleshooting to the physical installation of hardware that keeps the production line moving. Responsibilities Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues to minimize factory downtime. Hardware Lifecycle: Lead the physical mounting, cabling, and decommissioning of network devices (switches, routers, and APs). Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with third-party vendors to integrate new solutions and ensure seamless service delivery. Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage physical layer requirements, including copper and fiber cabling standards. Network Optimization: Support and maintain VLAN configurations, trunking, and basic routing protocols. Qualifications Technical Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on networking experience, preferably in an industrial or large-scale enterprise environment. Cisco Expertise: Strong fundamental knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching platforms. Protocols & Standards: * Deep understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (VLSM/CIDR) and IP subnetting. Experience with routing protocols: EIGRP and OSPF. Familiarity with QoS (Quality of Service) configurations. Wireless: Solid understanding of Cisco Wireless networking and access point deployment. Layer 2 Knowledge: Proficiency in VLANs and VLAN Trunking. Physical & Environmental Requirements Onsite Presence: This role is 100% onsite at the Charleston/Ridgeville factory; remote work is not available for this position. Factory Hours: Ability to support early shift hours (starting at 6:00 AM) to align with production schedules. Physical Dexterity: Ability to perform physical tasks, including racking equipment and managing cable runs (copper/fiber).
