Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join a National Security Contract located in Raleigh, NC through hybrid presence. The Network Engineer will manage, configure, and optimize DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) services to ensure reliable network connectivity for 32K sites. The Network Engineer will configure and manage DNS servers, troubleshoot DHCP issues, plan and track IP addresses, and collaborate with network administrators to ensure high availability and optimize projects using primarily BlueCat and Linux.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer include:

  • Oversee DNS servers, zones, and record to ensure reliable resolution and implement security measures like DNSSEC and DDoS protection
  • Maintain DHCP servers and address pools, troubleshoot issues, and optimize IP address allocation and lease duration
  • Plan, allocate, and track IP addresses, manage subnets using IPAM tools, and ensure accurate reporting and utilization
  • Collaborate with network engineers to integrate DDI services, resolve connectivity issues, and participate in network design and optimization
  • Implement security policies for DDI services and maintain compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Keep detailed records of DDI configurations and procedures, respond to disruptions promptly, and escalate critical issues as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE NETWORK ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • DNS, DHCP, IPAM management experience
  • Experience with DDI platforms - preferably BlueCat
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, encryption protocols, and security best practices
  • History of work with APIs, scripting, Splunk data flows, Preferred Perl, python, and JavaScript
  • CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA
  • Active Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or a related/equivalent field
