Qwaltec is seeking a Network Engineer to administer and secure the networks that keep satellite ground station operations running for a Department of War customer. This role requires a strong background in the administration of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and remote networks, including working knowledge of network hardware, software, protocols, and network security in a client/server environment. You will be the go-to expert for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and correcting problems with LAN/WAN services, and for installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading software on network systems. This position is fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area. Key Responsibilities: • Administer LANs, WANs, and remote networks in a client/server environment • Operate and maintain servers, modems, switches, firewalls, and routers • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct problems with LAN/WAN services • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade software on network systems • Implement and maintain network security in accordance with applicable policies and directives Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or related field • 3 years of experience in a network support role in a multi-platform environment • Thorough knowledge of and experience with network protocols, specifically Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) • DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification at IAT Level III (e.g., CCNP/CCIE) • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing & Switching • Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) • Active Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required • U.S. Citizenship required • Ability to work fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area Preferred Qualifications: • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) • Juniper Networks Enterprise Routing and Switching, Specialist • Juniper Networks Certified Specialist Security • Experience supporting networks in satellite ground station or other 24/7 mission environments Compensation and Benefits: • Competitive benefits package • Professional development support and training budget • Opportunity to grow with a mission-driven, women-owned small business at the forefront of space operations Why Qwaltec?
