A high profile Federal Government department is looking to engage a skilled Network Engineer to provide expert technical support and management of the departments network infrastructure and vendor network equipment, ensuring reliable service delivery, alignment with current and future business requirements and the ongoing currency and maintainability of the network environment. The successful Network Engineer will secure an initial 12 month contract with the view to be extended for two years and receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful Network Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Supporting and maintaining network equipment from vendors including HPE, CISCO, FortiGate, Palo Alto and Peplink.
• Managing and supporting Network Security technologies and services.
• Supporting Virtualised networking products and environments.
• Administering and troubleshooting LAN, MAN and WAN environments.

The successful Network Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Contemporary broad network domain knowledge and technical skills including experience working in a multi-vendor environment including but not limited to HPE, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Peplink.
• Experience administering secure networks compliant with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
• Experience using automation tools for the management of network and server infrastructure.
• Experience implementing network management and monitoring solutions ie. DCIM, SNMP, SYSLOG, Authentication, NTP.
