JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking principles, protocols, and technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the organization’s IT infrastructure and contribute to various projects aimed at enhancing network capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in network engineering with a strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and network protocols (TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE for identity services management and Meraki for cloud-managed networking solutions.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Citrix is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex networking issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement security measures including firewalls (Cisco ASA), VPNs, IDS, and encryption protocols to safeguard network integrity.
  • Manage network devices such as routers, switches (Cisco routers), and firewalls while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement necessary patches or upgrades to maintain a secure network environment.
  • Support data center operations including SAN management, load balancing, and cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure).
  • Collaborate with IT teams on system administration tasks across various operating systems including Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows, and macOS.
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG for proactive network management and troubleshooting.
  • Develop scripts using Python or Bash for automation of network tasks and enhancements in operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of network installations while adhering to best practices in network architecture.
  • Provide technical support for network-related issues ensuring minimal downtime for users.
