Sparx Solutions is looking for an experienced Network Engineer / Senior Network Engineer to join our growing Melbourne team. This is a hands-on technical role suited to a capable mid-level to senior engineer who enjoys working across enterprise networking, security, wireless and SD-WAN environments. You will be involved in the design, deployment, troubleshooting and ongoing improvement of customer networks across a diverse enterprise and commercial customer base. We are looking for someone who has strong practical experience with Cisco routing and switching, understands enterprise network environments, and can confidently work across modern security and connectivity technologies. About the role You will work closely with customers, project teams and internal technical specialists to deliver high-quality networking outcomes. The role will include a mix of project delivery, implementation, technical support, documentation, troubleshooting and customer engagement. Key responsibilities Design, deploy, support and troubleshoot enterprise network environments Work across Cisco routing and switching solutions Support SD-WAN deployments and migrations Implement and support Palo Alto Networks firewall and SD-WAN technologies Work with enterprise wireless platforms, including Juniper Mist and Aruba Wireless Assist with network access control and RADIUS-based authentication solutions Produce clear technical documentation, implementation plans and handover notes Work directly with customers to understand requirements and resolve technical issues Contribute to continuous improvement across customer network environments What we’re looking for The ideal candidate will have: Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching Experience working in enterprise network environments Exposure to SD-WAN deployments, including Cisco Meraki, Cisco SD-WAN or similar technologies Essential experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls Exposure to Palo Alto Networks SD-WAN technology Experience with enterprise wireless technologies, ideally Juniper Mist or Aruba Wireless Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN, wireless and firewall environments Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers A practical, outcome-focused approach to solving technical problems A current driver’s licence and ability to travel to customer sites as required Highly regarded The following will be viewed favorably: Experience with network access control or RADIUS-based authentication solutions such as Aruba ClearPass or Cisco ISE Relevant industry certifications, such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba, Juniper Mist, Meraki or related networking/security certifications Experience working for a managed services provider, systems integrator or customer-facing technology provider Experience supporting government, enterprise or multi-site customer environments Why join Sparx Solutions?
