Network Engineer (SolarWinds SME) Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid. 3 Days Onsite Per Week 2 Days Remote Per Week Interview Process: One round of Onsite Interviews. The onsite interview is mandatory. Duration: 12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience Required: 12+ Years Candidate location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense. Note: Only candidates with strong SolarWinds Administration, SIEM, Network Infrastructure, and Security experience will be considered. Project Scope: The SC Department of Revenue is seeking a senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in SolarWinds, SIEM platforms, network administration, automation scripting, and enterprise infrastructure support. The consultant will support a highly secure Windows Server 2019–2025 environment, ensuring stability, performance, security, and availability of network and server infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: · Administer and support SolarWinds monitoring environment · Manage SIEM platforms, monitoring tools, and network infrastructure · Troubleshoot complex server, network, and security issues · Perform system upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning · Develop automation scripts and operational procedures · Support disaster recovery and failover initiatives · Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions · Lead technical projects and mentor junior team members · Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation · Ensure compliance with security and governance standards Required Skills & Experience: · 10+ Years of SolarWinds Administration experience (WPM, SAM, UDT, WHD) · 10+ Years of SIEM Platform experience · 10+ Years of Automation Scripting experience · 10+ Years of PCI / NIST / Pub1075 Security Implementations and Audits · Strong Network Administration and Infrastructure Support experience · Experience with Monitoring Tools, Server Administration, and Security Operations · Root Cause Analysis and Incident Resolution expertise · Experience mentoring and leading technical teams Preferred Skills: · PowerShell Scripting · Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity · Incident Handling & Cyber Security Operations · SOC Experience · Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, NTP, MLLP, and NDM protocols · Public Sector / Government experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
