Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Tier III Network Engineer to support a contract with the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Agency OCIO. The Tier III Network Engineer is a fully on-site position at their headquarters in Washington, DC. This role requires an Active Top-Secret (TS) Clearance for consideration.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE NETWORK ENGINEER – TIER III:

  • Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco routers and switches using IOS/NX-OS, Palo Alto NextGen Firewall, and VPN solutions along with experience working with General Dynamics Taclanes and GEMOne
  • In-depth knowledge of F5 Load Balancers, including GTM and Big DNS
  • Extensive technical experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems, as well as network security, traffic analysis, incident response, vulnerability assessments, packet inspection, and system hardening.
  • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, encryption mechanisms, and various communication protocols such as TLS/SSL, IPsec, SSH, BGP, VLAN, LLDP, LACP, ARP, 802.1x, DNS, AES, and NTP.
  • Must hold Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance
Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and enhance LAN and WAN network infrastructure, including routers, switches, VPN solutions, load balancers, and security appliances.
  • Apply security patches promptly to network devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards for routers, switches, voice, video, and security systems.
  • Continuously assess network performance using advanced monitoring tools, diagnose connectivity issues, and implement optimizations for maximum efficiency.
  • Keep an accurate and updated inventory of all networking assets, including hardware and software components, while managing their lifecycle effectively.
  • Offer technical insights, architectural suggestions, and expertise during engineering discussions to support network development and upgrades.
  • Oversee data center network operations, coordinate with teams on infrastructure growth, and assist with storage and virtualization solutions.
