The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting in the overall health, functionality, performance, and security of the customer’s network infrastructure. This includes LAN/WAN connectivity, network hardware, telephony, VPN, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points as well as software defined networks. Responsibilities: Design, implement, maintain, and support network infrastructure for the organization Troubleshoot network performance issues and outages Maintain and upgrade network hardware, software, firewalls, switches, routers, phones, access points Implement network security measures and best practices Conduct capacity planning to meet future network infrastructure needs Maintain network infrastructure documentation and procedures Monitor network health, availability, and bandwidth utilization Work on network projects and new initiatives Requirements Knowledge of Cisco IOS and Juniper switching/routing protocols, QOS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP etc. Understanding of Wi-Fi technologies and wireless controllers Working technical knowledge of network security tools and tactics Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Stays current on the latest networking technologies and trends Minimum Required Certification: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) Minimum Required Certification: DOD 8570 IAT II Certification (Ex. Sec+, CISSP, GCIH, CYSA+). Desired Skills Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related engineering field with minimum in lieu of degree 4+ Years of Networking experience.
