About the role
We’re seeking a Network Engineer who will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the networks that support core organisational functions and ensure their continued high availability.
You’ll join an innovative team provides input into the strategic direction, and overarching governance to the technical roadmaps across both network operations and project delivery.
As our Network Engineer, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide second and third level network management to support Transurban operations
  • Provide ongoing improvements to the network and ensure measurable increases in efficiencies
  • Monitor the network using the network monitoring system
  • Action any network Incidents and Service Requests, ensuring the Service Management procedures are adhered
  • Plan, manage and execute changes to the Network segments
  • Perform peer reviews on Network changes as required, ensuring Changes to the Network are adequately risk-assessed

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
-

Experience of Cisco Routers and Switches

  • Knowledge and experience in MPLS L3VPN, L2VPN, OSPF, BGP, Multicast and RSTP
  • Knowledge and experience of Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience in dealing with mission-critical and safety-critical systems
  • Experience in network automation and demonstrated ability to drive efficiency through automation and simplification of technologies and processes
  • Perform 24x7 on-call duties on a rostered basis
