POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about creating the next generation of products and network services for data storage, processing, and analysis. This position involves a wide range of data engineering and network technologies to support the data lifecycle, blending Network Services, Data Management, and Software Engineering.
The selected candidate will work at our office in Huntsville, with the potential to support at customer sites as well. The person in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions to improve the collection, processing, transport, and storage of data to operationalize outputs from test events.
This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer the application of data network engineering techniques to test and evaluation. In this role, the candidate must be able to conceptualize solutions, convey complex topics to a wide range of audiences, define product roadmaps, and apply new network and data storage technologies to meet emerging customer needs. The candidate must be able to work extensively with cross-functional teams to achieve customer and corporate goals.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience with designing and implementing data solutions, managing big data technologies, and working with DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with implementing infrastructure as code for provisioning network resources.
• Experience with implementing data solutions on DoD networks and obtaining an ATO.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate results from deeply technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Information assurance certifications such as Sec+, GICSP, GSEC, etc. (equivalent to DoD IAT Certification Level 2).
• Experience in data science, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience in software development environments utilizing Agile methodology.
• Experience in the defense sector and/or aviation, space, or missile communities.
• Experience supporting DoD or Army Test and Evaluation communities.
• Active TS security clearance.

• Design and implement scalable and secure data transport and storage solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and distribution of large datasets.
• Utilize cloud services and tools to automate data workflows and streamline the data engineering process.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies, including data encryption and access controls.
• Monitor data systems’ performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Document data engineering processes, create data flow diagrams, and maintain metadata for data lineage and cataloging.
• Identify stakeholder, customer, and user needs to design new networks and/or improve existing networks.
• Coordinate with program management personnel to prioritize programmatic and technical objectives.
• Duties may include support to the development of technical artifacts, as well as the development of thought-leading white papers, presentations, journal articles, and conference proceedings.
• Overnight travel on an as-needed basis, approximately 10%.
