This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 3 years Location: Kolkata, Gujarat JobType: full-time We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Engineer with 3–7 years of hands-on experience in managing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in networking technologies, demonstrated through practical experience and a valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and performance of network systems that power business operations. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and load balancers. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patch management to ensure network stability and security compliance. Troubleshoot complex network issues at Layer 1–Layer 7, providing root-cause analysis and permanent corrective solutions. Configure and manage network routing and switching protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP, and QoS policies. Manage network access control, security configurations, and VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL, Remote Access). Participate in network planning, capacity forecasting, risk analysis, and developing disaster recovery strategies. Implement, document, and maintain network architecture diagrams, SOPs, and technical configurations. Collaborate closely with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and DevOps teams to support system integration and seamless service delivery. Support network-related aspects of office expansion, data center operations, cloud connectivity (AWS/Azure), and vendor coordination. Conduct proactive network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark, or similar platforms. Required Skills & Qualifications CCNA certification (mandatory); CCNP will be an added advantage. 3–7 years of relevant experience in enterprise networking, preferably in mid to large-scale environments. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar networking devices. Proficiency in TCP/IP fundamentals, LAN/WAN architecture, Firewall rules, NAT, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation. Experience with Wi-Fi network deployment and wireless troubleshooting. Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control policies. Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid WAN technologies (SD-WAN preferred). Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Good to Have Experience with SD-WAN solutions (Viptela, Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, or equivalent). Familiarity with VOIP systems, SIP protocols, and Unified Communication platforms. Scripting knowledge for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Experience in ITIL-based service management processes.
